I am an expert in international education, instructional design, teacher training and educational technology with more than 15 years of experience in these fields. During my time as both a technology director, classroom teacher and integrationist, I have developed both short and long-term technology plans and budgets that dealt with technological infrastructure, resource acquisition, teacher development, open and distance learning, curriculum and pedagogy. I have managed a variety of student information systems and am quick to learn new ones. In my roles as trainer and coach, I have developed and delivered professional development for professionals across Asia, Africa and South America within the scope of ICT in education and statistics.
As an instructional designer, I have created several courses on and and acted as administrator for various learning management systems including Canvas, Haiku, PowerSchool Learning, Docebo and Moodle. I have extensive experience using a multitude of tools including most Apple products, Adobe Creative Cloud and Captivate, Articulate 360, all Google Apps, Camtasia, Microsoft Office, Screencastify, iMovie, as well many others. Additionally, I am comfortably familiar with Agile, ADDIE, SAM, SCORM and can apply them comfortably to my instructional design work.
I have been an Apple Distinguished Educator since 2008 and have been invited to and attended ADE conferences in Singapore, Miami and Mexico City. Additionally, as an ADE, I was invited by Apple to several professional development events to train others how to maximize the use of Apple products in an educational environment. I have expert level knowledge of Apple’s ecosystem and presentation software applications and have trained countless educators and other professionals how to use them.
I am thoroughly familiar and comfortable with multimedia in various forms and can utilize these media to most efficiently deliver educational content. My solid communication skills allow me to transmit knowledge in a way that is easily understood by all kinds of learners. I possess high level knowledge of learning theory and use this information to guide my actions. I have received extremely positive feedback for the innovative ways in which I take input from subject matter experts and transmit it into powerful presentations that truly reach students.
